Make an impact by providing services that help the government ensure the well being and support of U.S. citizens.\nJob Description\nPosition Description:The Data Engineer provides system and data engineering support to data analysis operations throughout the reporting and analysis lifecycle. The Engineer will build and maintain systems to extract, clean and transform data, using advanced automation and scripting tools.Position Duties:\nWork with business owners and data analysts to develop technical solutions for reporting products.\nBuild, test and maintain database pipeline architectures.\nUse ETL tools to extract and load data for various reports.\nCreate data validation tools.\nAutomate data analysis and collection products.\nCreate documentation and presentations.\nCreates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture.\nDevelops and conducts tests to ensure data solutions meet documented user requirements.\nAnalyzes IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity.\nCollaborates with data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.\nWorks with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.\nMay coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.\nProvide ongoing training for data analysts and staff on data tools and products.\nAssist data analysts with data preparation to create sources for data products.\nHelp create governance processes and procedures.\nSupport data collection, analysis and visualization projects as needed, including data modeling, database creation, and technical support.\nRecommend and implement technical and automated solutions for manual processes.\nProvide recommendations to streamline and improve current business processes.\nRespond and fulfill data requests as required.\nParticipate in special projects as needed.\nQualifications\nRequires BS/BA degree in related discipline along with 8 years of experience or 6 years with a Master’s Degree.\nExpert coding knowledge including SQL and Python (required), and R (preferred).\nExperience working with Palantir Foundry, and tools such as Contour, Code Repository, Code Workbook, Pipeline Builder, Data Lineage.\nExperience with GitHub, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Salesforce and Tableau.\nKnowledge of Databricks a plus.\nUnderstanding of relational and non-relational databases.\nExperience working with large datasets, performing tasks such as data cleaning and processing (ETL).\nExperience with automation/scripting.\nKnowledge of cloud storage and cloud computing/analytics.\nUnderstanding of data security.\nAbility to build prototypes of new data products and to automate workflows.\nAbility to learn and comprehend new data tools.\nAbility to conduct feasibility studies to determine suitability to program requirements.\nExcellent analytical and writing skills.\nStrong verbal communication skills.\nHighly motivated and collaborative.\nAdditional Requirements:\nThis position requires an existing Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.\nThis role and associated duties will be performed on site at a government facility located in Washington, DC.\n#priority\nWork Requirements\nYears of Experience\n8 + years of related experience\nmay vary based on technical training, certification(s), or degree\nCertification\nTravel Required\nLess than 10%\nSalary and Benefit Information\nThe likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
