Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: BLS required. Chemo certification required. Must-Have: Oncology clinic experience preferred. ONCC certification for chemotherapy administration required. Description: The Registered Nurse position is to cover breast medical oncology. This role consists of 90% telephone triage and 10% clinic support for providers. Shifts are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The RN will deliver compassionate, coordinated care for all breast cancer patients. The position involves working in partnership with patients and families through prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. The RN will provide patient education and coordinate care for those diagnosed with breast cancer or related conditions. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is essential, including coordination with various specialists. Targeted assessment skills will be used to assess patients during visits and via telephone triage. This position requires actively supporting patients through their treatment journey. The RN should be well-versed in managing side effects and symptom management. Familiarity with electronic charting systems is necessary. The RN will coordinate appointments for various procedures and assist in managing patient care logistics.
