As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.\n\nTHE PERSON:\n\nThe ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, understands cybersecurity principles, and is diligent and passionate about technology. A successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. We are looking for a multitasker who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, an outgoing person who can communicate internally and externally to customers, and who has a passion for developing solutions to complex cybersecurity problems.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nSupport the design, development, and delivery of security solutions for next-generation FPGA, SoC, and embedded x86 products, ensuring robust protection throughout the product lifecycle.\n\nDefine and drive security requirements, architectures, and implementations, including secure boot, cryptographic services, root-of-trust technologies, and access control mechanisms.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering, program management, and validation teams to integrate security into architecture, design, testing, and product release processes.\n\nSupport Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) activities, including threat modeling, code reviews, penetration testing, red teaming, and security feature validation.\n\nInvestigate and resolve complex security challenges, including critical customer escalations.\n\nContribute to the evolution of scalable, innovative security architectures that address emerging threats and enable future product capabilities.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\n\nExpertise in AMD SoC, FPGA, embedded x86, and ARM-based platform security, including threat modeling, cryptography, secure boot, TEE, TrustZone, and access control.\n\nExperience applying security principles to hardware and software products, including certification efforts (Common Criteria, FIPS, ISO21434, IEC62443).\n\nHands-on experience with FPGA/SoC development, validation, simulation, verification (UVM), hardware debugging, and lab testing.\n\nProficiency in Python, C, Verilog, VHDL, or similar programming languages.\n\nKnowledge of embedded systems, including RTOS, embedded Linux, and hypervisors.\n\nIndustry experience in Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Datacenter, or Test & Measurement environments.\n\nExpertise in Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs) and hardware root-of-trust technologies.\n\nAble to obtain and hold a security clearance is a plus.\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\n\nBachelor’s or Master's degree, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent\n\nLOCATION: Austin, TX - Remote can be considered for exceptional candidates.\n\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
