Salary commensurate with experience*\n\nJob Title: UX/UI Engineer\nLocation: Albany, NY (Hybrid)\nDuration: 31 Months (with potential for extension)\nStart Date: estimated - October 8, 2026\nW2 Hourly Rate: $65-$85/hour\nApplication Deadline: September 4, 2026\n\nOverview:\n\nWe are seeking a UX/UI Engineer who will support our NYS client.\nThis role will design and improve user experiences for Integrated Eligibility System initiatives, working with stakeholders, developers, and program teams across Health and Human Services workstreams.\nThe engineer will conduct user research, facilitate design-thinking activities, create UX deliverables and coded interactive prototypes, perform usability testing, and help deliver multi-device experiences across web, iOS, and Android.\n\nDuties:\nConsult with stakeholders to understand business goals, incorporate broader stakeholder views, and develop solutions and recommendations.\nHelp solve complex business issues from strategy through execution and design, develop, and implement client-facing and internal-facing technology solutions that support NYS strategic initiatives.\nUse enterprise architecture across application areas to map capabilities and delivery models to business needs.\nCreate and execute user research plans using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and related methods, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.\nPlan and facilitate design-thinking workshops, including journey mapping and user-needs modeling.\nCreate UX deliverables including user models and scenarios, sketches, user stories, user flows, wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, and coded interactive prototypes.\nPlan and conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback and activity, collect quantitative and qualitative UX metrics, and iterate to improve the user experience.\nWork closely with developers to bring designs to life, iteratively improve solutions, and assist with content development.\nDesign for multi-device web, iOS, and Android contexts, and address defects, enhancements, and post-implementation incidents throughout the application support lifecycle.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nMandatory Qualifications:\n4-7 years of experience as a Specialist.\n4-7 years of experience in UI/UX engineering across the full life cycle of design deliverables, including wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, storyboards, and user surveys.\n1-2 years of experience working in an Integrated Eligibility System Program across various workstreams in a Health and Human Services setting.\n1-2 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.\n1-2 years of experience with user research, user modeling, and usability testing.\n1-2 years of experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.\n\nReady to make a difference?\n\nWe’re eager to connect with qualified candidates committed to delivering results and fostering excellence within client projects.\n\nCloud and Things complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding recruitment and hiring.
