We’re focused on helping people manage their health more effectively and comfortably, with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.\nThe Lead Electrical Engineer works independently, in a lead role, or as part of a team, to investigate complaints from on market products or clinical studies.\nThis is an onsite opportunity based out of Alameda, CA.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nUtilize expertise in the areas of analog measurement electronics, digital electronics, embedded software, firmware, NFC, Bluetooth, and high volume manufacturing to work with teams inside and outside of R&D performing failure analysis investigations.\nLead and ensure timely completion of investigations for both individual and team assignments\nMentor junior electrical engineers.\nDevelop and document robust methodologies for using product event data and logs to determine root cause of product failures.\nAuthor comprehensive investigation documentation to support approve for use, or product improvements.\nSynthesize electrical and software design documentation.\nUtilize excellent communication and organization skills to work with cross functional teams and vendors.\nUtilize good engineering sensibilities, first principles, knowledge of failure modes, knowledge of good lab technique.\nUtilize good deductive reasoning, sound logic and the ability to explain complicated ideas.\nCommunicate fluently with electrical, mechanical, and embedded software designers as well as quality assurance, clinical investigations, and upper management.\nCommunicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams to direct multi-disciplinary teams toward solutions.\nWork in conjunction with developers in creating investigation processes for new products and solutions for identified failure modes.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor of Science Electrical / electronic engineering or related engineering field.\nMinimum 10 years of related experience in electrical / electronic engineering or related engineering field.\nExperience with component level product design and or failure analysis.\nExperience with medical device or IVD design controls per FDA, or regulated industry\nExperience with products produced at high volumes\nDemonstrated technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.\nKnowledge of electrical component failure modes.\nAbility to conduct thorough data analytics.\nStrong analytical & problem-solving skills.\nAbility to provide guidance to junior team members.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with embedded electronics, analog measurement circuitry, op amps, A/D, mixed signal ASICs, BLE, Bluetooth, NFC, battery powered devices.\nLab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, source measurement units (SMU), power analyzers, spectrum analyzers.\nPCBA level product design for low power measurement circuitry produced at high volume.\nExperience supporting FDA audit responses.\nGood understanding of processes used in the design, documentation, and verification of medical devices or IVD.\n\nThe base pay for this position is $130,700.00 – $261,300.00.
