While there may not be an immediate opening, candidates will be considered as positions become available based on their qualifications and program needs.\n\nPosition Summary\nOdyssey is seeking experienced Acquisition Program Engineers (Systems, Mechanical, and Software) to join our talent community for anticipated opportunities supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Armament Directorate and other Department of Defense acquisition programs. Our engineers design, develop, integrate, and sustain complex weapon systems and associated technologies throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including systems engineering, mechanical design and analysis, and software development to ensure performance, reliability, and mission requirements are met.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSupport engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)\n\nPerform systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or software engineering functions depending on area of expertise\n\nSupport requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verification\n\nConduct system design, integration, and technical analysis activities\n\nDevelop and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface documents, and engineering reports\n\nSupport technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activities\n\nCollaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performance\n\nAnalyze system performance and recommend design or process improvements\n\nSupport risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning\n\nProvide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision‑making\n\nQualifications\nCitizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen\n\nClearance: Secret\n\nEducation and Experience: All engineering degrees must be from an ABET‑accredited institution (or equivalent IRD). Engineering Technology degrees do not qualify.\n\nJourneyman: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in engineering and 3 years of relevant experience\n\nSenior: Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 20 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in engineering and 15 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in engineering and 5 years of relevant experience\n\nPrincipal: PhD in engineering and 25 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree and 25 years of relevant experience and recognized at a national level in a relevant technical field\n\nExperience supporting DoD acquisition programs or equivalent engineering environments\n\nExperience supporting system development, integration, or sustainment activities\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nClearance: Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI\n\nExperience supporting AFLCMC or other Air Force organizations\n\nExperience with armament systems (air‑to‑air, air‑to‑surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)\n\nExperience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs\n\nStrong knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 series\n\nExperience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), modeling tools (e.g., SysML), or software development environments\n\nTechnical Skills\n\nSystems engineering processes (requirements, integration, verification, validation)\n\nMechanical design, analysis, and materials or structural engineering (as applicable)\n\nSoftware development, integration, and testing (as applicable)\n\nFamiliarity with engineering tools, modeling, and simulation environments\n\nRisk management and technical problem‑solving\n\nConfiguration management and technical documentation\n\nInterpersonal Skills\n\nAbility to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team\n\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilities\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to support complex, mission‑critical programs\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment\n\nAdditional Information\nLocation: Eglin AFB, FL\n\nTravel: May be required up to 10–20% depending on program needs\n\nWork Environment: Onsite\n\nCompany Overview\nOdyssey is a world‑class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
