Line Cook
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook/Sous Chef to join our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate would preferably have a strong background in upscale dining and a commitment to food safety and quality. We are willing to train exceptional people with little to no experience but prefer an experienced Sous Chef type to work closely with the Executive Chef and assume some managerial type responsibilities.
Potential Duties Based on Experience
Assist in the development and planning of menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of guests.
Train new kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and kitchen procedures.
Help maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.
Participate in daily operations, including cooking, plating, and serving dishes.
Preferred Experience
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a casual upscale establishment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food service standards, and menu planning.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire kitchen staff.
A background in culinary arts or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
