This position plays a critical role in food safety by monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensuring compliance with HACCP plans, regulatory requirements, and Tyson policies and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor, verify, and document Product at designated Critical Control Points (CCPs) and control points as outlined in the plant HACCP planEnsure all Product meets established critical limits and food safety requirementsAccurately record temperature data on approved HACCP logs, forms, or electronic systems in real timeImmediately identify, document, and report any temperature deviations or out-of-spec conditionsInitiate and document required corrective actions when CCP limits are not met, in accordance with HACCP proceduresCommunicate CCP deviations promptly to QA, Production, and supervisionVerify monitoring equipment (thermometers, probes, sensors) is clean, calibrated, and functioning properlyMaintain accurate, legible, and audit-ready CCP records in compliance with USDA and Tyson requirementsSupport internal, external, and regulatory audits by providing temperature and CCP documentationFollow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirementsComply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policiesMaintain cleanliness of work areas and monitoring equipmentPerform other duties as assignedCritical Control Point (CCP) ResponsibilitiesPerform CCP monitoring at required frequencies as defined by the HACCP planEnsure strict adherence to critical limits and monitoring proceduresAccurately document monitoring results and corrective actionsUnderstand the importance of CCP monitoring in preventing food safety hazardsMaintain confidentiality and integrity of all food safety recordsFresh Plant Environment ExpectationsWork directly in raw and fresh product processing areasAdhere to strict temperature control, food safety, and contamination prevention standardsWear required PPE, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, and protective footwearWork in refrigerated or temperature-controlled environmentsEducation And Experience RequirementsEducation:High School diploma or equivalent preferredExperience:Prior experience in food production, quality assurance, or HACCP-related roles preferredExperience with CCP monitoring or USDA-regulated environments a plusSkills And CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to read, record, and interpret numerical dataUnderstanding of basic HACCP and food safety principlesAbility to follow written and verbal instructions preciselyGood communication skills to report deviations immediatelyBasic Computer Skills PreferredStrong commitment to food safety and regulatory compliancePhysical Demands And Work RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shiftAbility to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasksAbility to work in cold, wet, or humid conditions typical of a fresh plant environmentAbility to handle and carry temperature monitoring equipment as requiredWork ScheduleMust be available to work assigned shiftsOvertime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needsSafety and Compliance CommitmentThe Temperature Monitor plays a critical food safety role and is expected to strictly follow Tyson policies, HACCP requirements, USDA regulations, and plant procedures. Accurate CCP monitoring and documentation are essential to maintaining product safety, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity at the Vicksburg Plant.This position is responsible for monitoring products and insuring products have passed all critical control points while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.Relocation Assistance Eligible:NoWork Shift:2ND SHIFT (United States of America)Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.
