Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a talented Rail Systems / Catenary Engineer for the New England region. Here you will have the opportunity to work side by side with career rail professionals throughout the US, delivering projects for transit clients with a focus on electrification and overhead catenary systems or OCS. Responsibilities and Typical Duties Be an integral part of our WORLD CLASS RAIL DESIGN group Develop overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams, and technical specifications Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects Lead major tasks and ensure compliance with all federal, state & local regulations regarding OCS Serve as a project manager on mid‑large size projects and coordinate the team, providing technical expertise Lead technical client relationships related to design, construction, and phasing of the work Coordinate with multiple departments related to a project’s scope of work Mentor staff to develop a team that supports work throughout New England and beyond Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills Develop and maintain strong client relationships Qualifications Minimum Requirements BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Professional Engineer (PE) Valid U.S. driver’s license (and pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review) Preferred Qualifications 10 years’ experience in railway systems (Overhead Catenary Systems / Traction Power) 6 years of related experience in railway (overhead catenary systems, traction power, track) Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads, or OpenRail Experience working with Connecticut Department of Transportation, Metro‑North Railroad, Amtrak, MBTA, or other passenger/commuter railroad agencies Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Excellent written and communication skills Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this role Sponsorship is available for this role Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
