As an Internal Project Engineer, you will be given fixed budgets and timelines and will be responsible for delivering commercially viable products. This role is designed for engineers who have multiple well-developed ideas that they can bring to market using minimal time and seed capital. It is a performance-driven role with periodic evaluations on deliverables and wins. Incentive pay is eligible upon successfully creating two different design or engineering IP within budget and schedule. This position is based in Lanham, MD with some work done in Tysons Corner, VA.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSuccessfully create two different design or engineering IP for SSAI within budget/schedule - within one year of hiring.\n\nDevelop and bring new products to market within fixed budgets and timelines\n\nDesign, prototype, and refine manufacturing processes\n\nEnsure products meet commercial viability and quality standards\n\nOptimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness\n\nManage projects from concept through production and launch\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nFamiliarity with the engineering process\n\nGPA of 3.0 or higher\n\nFamiliarity with advanced prototyping and manufacturing\n\nFamiliarity with engineering self-sufficiency\n\nFamiliarity with reporting and documentation\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\n2+ years of experience with advanced prototyping and manufacturing\n\nPrevious experience with commercially viable products\n\nInterest in a hybrid role of engineering and business\n\nEEO/AA Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities\n\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
