Marine Mechanical Engineer

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer with design integration experience in shipboard mechanical systems, the full-time position will focus on providing technical evaluations of vendor designs, assessing system performance, and writing technical papers on compliance with USCG/ABS standards, all while working remotely with occasional travel. Key responsibilities: Provide technical evaluations of vendor-proposed system designs and assess design maturity and performance Write technical papers on the risks of systems meeting USCG/ABS design standards Conduct cost estimations for proposed ship construction changes and perform root cause analysis of shipboard failures Required qualifications: BS degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering Four (4) to twelve (12) years of experience in the shipbuilding industry Ability to perform requirements analysis, concept design, and systems integration Thorough understanding of ABS, USCG, and other regulatory agency rules related to shipboard systems Experience in reviewing/modifying drawings and technical writing
