Data Architect & Engineer (UDP Program)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Architect & Engineer to lead the data architecture for a multi-tenant eCommerce platform supporting multiple retail brands on shared infrastructure.This role will be responsible for designing scalable, compliant, and high-performance data systems while ensuring data isolation across brands and adherence to PCI-DSS and GDPR requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and enforce a canonical data model across domains such as Product, Order, Customer, Cart, Inventory, Pricing, and PaymentsArchitect and build data pipelines integrating enterprise systems (ERP, OMS, CRM, Inventory, Pricing, Payments)Develop data infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads (feature stores, clickstream capture, entity resolution, data lineage)Lead data migration initiatives across multiple brands, including workshops and mapping exercisesDefine and implement data governance, including PII handling and compliance frameworksPresent architectural decisions via Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to governance boardsAct as the data domain lead, partnering with platform architecture and driving the data workstream independentlyRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in Data Architecture (enterprise/platform level)Expertise in event-driven architecture and change data capture (CDC) pipelinesDeep understanding of eCommerce data domains (orders, inventory, pricing, customer data)Experience with data warehousing/lakehouse platforms (Snowflake or equivalent), including schema design and optimizationStrong knowledge of PCI-DSS and GDPR compliance, including data classification, encryption, and access controlsProficiency in Java and PythonExperience leading cross-functional architecture alignment and governance processesPreferred / Technical StackAWS ecosystem: RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, EventBridge, Glue, DMS, EMRDatabases/Platforms: Snowflake, Datastax Astra, NeptuneAI/ML Enablement: SageMaker Feature StoreExperience with data lineage, governance, and large-scale distributed systemsNice to HaveExposure to AI/ML data pipeline design and feature engineering workflowsExperience working in retail or multi-brand commerce environmentsKey Success FactorsAbility to operate as an independent data architecture leadStrong stakeholder management and ability to drive enterprise-wide alignmentExperience working in complex, multi-system integration environmentsWork ModelHybrid role – candidates must be local to the Dallas–Fort Worth areaOccasional on-site presence in Plano required based on project needsAbout VRIZEVRIZE is a global Digital & Data Engineering company delivering end-to-end digital solutions across industries including Banking, Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Retail.Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, VRIZE supports clients across the United States with delivery centers in the U.S., Canada, Serbia, and India, partnering with leading technology platforms including Adobe, Microsoft, Snowflake, Tableau, and IBM to deliver scalable digital transformation solutions.VRIZE is an equal opportunity employer
