Ohio Middle School Intervention Specialist, 6-8 The Middle School Intervention Specialist Grades 6-8 works with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities to ensure that lessons and teaching strategies meet the students' needs, teach independent living skills, and provide appropriate literacy, communication, and math skills.Start Date: August 2026K12, a Stride Company, believes in Education for ANY ONE. Join us!This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum in alignment with the state's content standards to meet the unique needs of each studentWrites and maintains compliant IEPs for students identified with special needsCollaborates with general education teachers to meet the goals of the studentEducate parents on various instructional strategiesPrepare appropriate documentationCoordinate and facilitate IEP meetingsProctor achievement and other required testing to students including alternative assessments if requiredCollaborates with related services team to ensure IEP goals are developed and monitoredStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong presentation skillsOrganizational skills, multi-tasking abilitiesAbility to work without direct supervisionFlexible scheduleAbility to travel as needed, up to 20% of the timeAbility to pass required background checkMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSState of Ohio Intervention Specialist LicenseBachelor's degree ANDEquivalent combination of education and experienceMicrosoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiencyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 1 year classroom experienceMaster's Degree with an emphasis in Special Education3 or more years of classroom experience in Special EducationWORK ENVIRONMENT: These work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.The noise level in the home office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic, household appliances, and household distractions).The noise level at meeting locations throughout the state are typically moderate and should not vary much from what is experienced in the home office.
