This position will be responsible for strapping and packaging finished materials to prepare for shipping, bailing scrap and assisting as needed in other various roles. This position will also have a focus on key metrics for company success such as safety, quality, and compliance with company policies.\nRequirements:\n6 months experience in manufacturing/production\nAbility to take initiative\nForklift experience\nAbility to use hand tools\nMust be able to pass a drug test\nMust be able to pass a physical screening\nNo theft or larceny in background\nHas a team player mentality\nWillingness to learn and accept responsibility\nMust be able to work overtime\nResponsibilities:\nStacks finished goods onto pallets by hand or with cranes, palletizes with cardboard corners and plastic strapping/banding, and stretch wraps completed pallet\nMoves production material, equipment, and supplies in and around the plant using various material handling equipment.\nTransfers waste from hopper into baler. Secures with wire, empties baler, and ensure proper paperwork is completed.\nTransfers waste from hopper into dumpsters.\nSupports laminator operators by changing doctor blades, changing rubber/knurl/idler rolls, changing print cylinders, grinding rubber rolls, and mixing adhesive and lacquer coatings to established recipes.\nCut cable wrap cores to required size as needed with miter saw or core cutter to support quick changeovers.\nTakes initiative during downtime by helping other team members with their duties.\nFollows 5S principles ensuring area is routinely cleaned, and maintained free of waste, with all tools and equipment stored in their designated locations.\nPhysical Requirements:\nHas range of motion and flexibility – ability to turn head/neck to side (frequently), ability to twist upper body to the side while sitting (frequently)\nManual dexterity/motor skills – Ability to operate fork truck, driving backwards, using mirrors (frequently), ability to operate fork truck equipped with specialized lifting devices\nAbility to stand for prolonged periods (> 75% of shift)\nAbility to work for extended periods (full shift) in temperatures above 90 F, with variable humidity, short periods of time in temperatures exceeding 110 F, when placing loads in trailers\nAbility to lift up to 55 lbs. occasionally (changing propane cylinders)\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of the position’s duties and responsibilities.
