We have been delivering solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures since 1956.\r\nJob Overview As an Associate Technical Support Representative, you will provide technical assistance for the Engineering department and testing laboratory across all product lines.\r\nKey Responsibilities Serve as the front line of customer service technical support on all Simpson Strong-Tie products, software, and services to internal and external customers via the Engineering Phone Queue.\r\nResearch solutions to customer inquiries by exploring test database, literature, SalesForce, and internal discussion boards.\r\nProvide technical support and information on all products, software, and services through written communications (e.g. email) from website inquiries.\r\nAssist Simpson Engineers with test reports, technical letters, and custom hanger designs.\r\nParticipate in special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager.\r\nMinimum Requirements High school diploma or GED required.\r\nMinimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).\r\nAbility to interpret and understand structural drawings and drafting standards.\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills to write documents, routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively with customers and employees.\r\nAbility to learn new processes and procedures quickly.\r\nBasic mathematics skills: algebra, trigonometry, geometry; ability to compute rate, ratio, percent; draw and interpret charts and graphs.\r\nProficient in computer data entry using Windows, Word, Excel, and Access.\r\nKnowledge of Smartsheets or similar programs with ability to learn new programs.\r\nCommon sense reasoning to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.\r\nAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\r\nPreferred Requirements Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.\r\nAdditional 2 years of related experience and/or training.\r\nExperience in residential construction or familiarity with the industry preferred.\r\nExperience with Sales Force, Smartsheets and Simpson Strong-Tie software and applications is a plus.\r\nPhysical Requirements & Work Environment The role requires frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, occasional walking and standing, and occasional pushing or lifting up to 25 lbs. The work environment is a professional office setting with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and scanners.
