We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).\nWealth and Advice Solutions Technology (WAS Tech) is an organization within Schwab Technology Services aligned to support the technology needs of Wealth and Advice Solutions (WAS) business which is a growth area for Schwab.\nThis newly created role will support the future growth of the WAS business. As a Software Engineer, you will enable WAS Tech to achieve consistent, predictable, high-quality delivery by implementing best practices, tools, metrics, automation frameworks, and provide oversight in the areas of software development and testing. You’ll serve as a strong and versatile hands-on technical engineer. You will deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.\nYou will play a critical role in supporting key stakeholders across the WAS organization which is focused on high-net worth and ultra-high net worth retail investors. Supported business functions span Schwab’s Wealth and Investment Solutions including Schwab Wealth Advisory. You will be working with a team of talented and highly motivated technologists that strive to make technology a strategic differentiator for Schwab’s WAS business and their clients.\nWhat you have\n\nBA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.\n6+ years of hands-on software development experience.\nStrong experience developing RESTful APIs with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.\nStrong knowledge of object-oriented principals and design patterns\nApplication development using TDD Practices like unit testing and Behavior/Feature testing\nExperience writing unit, integration, and automation tests.\nUnderstanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team\nExperience with continuous integration and delivery tools - GitHub/GitActions.\nRelational database experience within MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.\nUnderstanding cloud-native enterprise applications deployed in PCF, AWS, GCP or Azure.\nProactively detect, troubleshoot, and remediate issues affecting production applications.\nProvide clear, concise, and timely communication to affected parties during the investigation and resolution of any individual or system-wide outage.\nExceptional interpersonal skills, including team interaction and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with configuring feature flag using Launch Darkly and with web Adobe Analytics tagging.\nDemonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting issues using Splunk, including logging, and creating Splunk alerts.\nApplication performance evaluation and tuning skills\nExperience in building nonfunctional frameworks or libraries.\nWealth Management and/or Financial Services industry experience.\nAbility to quickly learn & become proficient with new technologies.\nIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities\n\nWhat’s in it for you\nAt Schwab, you’re empowered to shape your future.
