Accounting Manager
Job Summary Our Financial Services client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team! This role will focus on accounting system integrations tied to acquisitions and new product implementations. The position is heavily focused on operational accounting, journal entry analysis, reconciliations, automation opportunities, and financial systems/process transformation within an Agile environment. This is a true individual contributor role requiring someone who can ramp up quickly and operate independently. This is a hybrid role — candidates must be local to Richmond or McLean, VA.Core Responsibilities Work independently during the discovery phase by reviewing documentation, performing walkthroughs with impacted teams, and making accounting assessmentsAnalyze existing journal entries and identify automation opportunities for future-state accounting processesSupport development, testing, and implementation of accounting and financial system requirementsCollaborate across multiple teams on enterprise-wide initiatives and integrationsFacilitate and participate in Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, and iterative project deliveryPresent recommendations and accounting/process improvements to stakeholders and leadershipIntegrate acquired businesses and new products into existing accounting systems and workflowsApply analytical thinking to identify issues, improve processes, and implement solutionsSupport reconciliation activities, accounting flows, and financial systems transformation initiativesRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) Strong accounting foundation with deep understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting flowsExperience with financial systems such as Workday or NetSuite strongly preferredHands-on experience with accounting systems integration, especially during acquisitions or new product launchesExperience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skillsAbility to work independently in fast-paced and evolving environmentsExperience with accounting automation and operational process improvements preferredCPA certification is a plusPreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Experience with accounting automation and operational process improvements preferredCPA certification is a plus Key Competencies & Behaviors Ownership & IndependenceAnalytical & Process-Improvement MindsetCross-Functional Collaboration & AdaptabilityWork Environment Location: Richmond, VA or McLean, VAHybridCompensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $66.00 and $94.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
