This role provides overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools for effective project management throughout the project lifecycle and involves coordinating with various departments to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget. The Project Developer manages strategic client relationships, establishes clear lines of communication, analyzes project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and proposes operational improvements and cost savings for future projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Duties/Responsibilities:Client & Proposal ManagementParticipate in business development activities required for securing new work including competitively bidding on new opportunitiesLead proposal development activities to include planning, researching, estimating, proposal writing, and schedulingCoordinate between company and client leadership to facilitate contract negotiationsProvide oversight and guidance to clients and project team members related to scope adherence, constructability and value management during design phasesServe as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholdersBuild and maintain strong client relationships, understand and communicate their needs to leadership and ensure their satisfactionManage communication and expectations with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycleWork with clients to develop project specific requirements and KPI's related to budget, schedule, quality and safetyPlanning and Project LeadershipEstablish project objectives, scope and deliverables, ensuring alignment with company and department goalsDevelop, manage and communicate project budgets, schedules and resource allocations with clients and leadershipCommunicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate, best-value pricing for all scopes of a projectProvide ongoing leadership and guidance to the project team during project execution, including preconstruction managers and estimators, as well as project management and site supervisionProvide oversight and guidance to project team members during all aspects of project execution including preconstruction, construction and closeout phasesMonitor project progress, identify and communicate potential issues to leadership, and implement solutions to ensure timely and on-budget deliveryEnsure compliance with all relevant building codes, lien laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards.Identify and assess potential project risks throughout the project life cycleDevelop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts on the projectProduce contract document package for handoff to Operations (Project Manager) including, but not limited to: Scope of work, budget, estimate, and schedule.Oversee and assist in supervising Project Managers assigned to the projectsA positive attitude aimed at the relentless pursuit of solutions to resolve various challengesOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Proven leadership skillsAbility to work on multiple projects concurrentlyExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Education/Experience:BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other relevant disciplineMinimum 10 years project management or preconstruction experience with specific focus on large or complex construction projectsExperience with Primavera P6/ MS Project, ProEst (or database estimating system), Procore, Building Connected, 3D BIM, is preferred.ProEst and Procore experience is a plusExperience with food manufacturing, design-build, multi-temp thermal construction, industrial refrigeration systems, is preferred.BIM experience is a plus.Travel Requirements:Ability to travel regularly for business development and to attend project meetings, corporate trainings, events, and industry relevant conferences.Travel expected to be at least 25%, no relocation requiredMaintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.Visual acuity for detailed work and computer useAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.About Stellar:Stellar offers a comprehensive package which includes:Competitive pay based on experienceRemote & hybrid work options for many positionsPaid Time Off - accrue 15 days (120 hours) within first year of servicePaid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insurance optionsTax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA)Company-paid life and disability insurance401(k) - company match with immediate vestingStellar, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, is a fully integrated firm focusing on design, construction, architecture, engineering, and mechanical services worldwide for over 30 years.
