The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is seeking a Volunteer Foster Program Assistant to help support one of our most important lifesaving programs. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in nonprofit operations, animal welfare, volunteer engagement, and program coordination while helping animals thrive in loving foster homes.\n\nCommitment\n10–20 hours per week\n\nSome evenings and weekends may be required based on program needs\n\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Foster Program Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting our Foster Coordinator and ensuring foster families and animals receive the resources they need to succeed. Responsibilities include:\n\nAssist with recruiting, communicating with, and supporting foster volunteers\n\nMaintain foster records and enter data accurately in PetPoint\n\nPrepare and distribute foster orientation and training materials\n\nCoordinate scheduling for vaccinations, veterinary appointments, and wellness checks\n\nMonitor the health and behavior of animals in foster care and communicate observations to the Foster Coordinator\n\nTrack foster animal movement and maintain accurate documentation\n\nSupport foster‑related events, outreach initiatives, and community engagement activities\n\nHelp communicate foster program policies and procedures to volunteers and foster families\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're seeking someone who is organized, dependable, and passionate about helping animals.
