Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients through quality programming, in-home care, job support, and community involvement.\nPosition Description: The Program Assistant will be responsible for the operational aspects of the farm, including cultivating land, planting, watering, and harvesting. The role includes instructing and supporting adults with developmental disabilities, maintaining farm equipment, and ensuring high-quality program delivery. This position reports to the Program Coordinator. The farm operates from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.\nResponsibilities:\nProgram Management:\nEnsure compliance with Title 17 standards and requirements.\nImplement and monitor the Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP) processes with appropriate staff.\nFarm Administration:\nAssist with farm oversight, including developing and implementing the annual growing plan.\nCultivate land, plant, water, and harvest crops.\nMaintain and repair farm equipment and machinery.\nEnsure cleanliness and organization of work areas and tools.\nTraining and Support:\nTrain program participants and team members on farm operations and safety procedures.\nSupport adults with developmental disabilities in their community involvement and personal development.\nDocumentation and Reporting:\nComplete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.\nPlan and coordinate crop sales and manage related activities.\nKey Results Areas (KRA):\nFarm Operations:\nDevelop and monitor the annual growing plan.\nPlant crops according to the schedule.\nEnsure proper growth and timely harvest of plants.\nCoordinate sales and manage farm-related activities effectively.\nClient and Team Relations:\nBuild and maintain positive relationships with clients.\nWork effectively with the client’s circle of support and the Oaks team.\nProactively seek to enrich clients’ lives.\nProfessionalism:\nMaintain high standards of attendance, punctuality, and dependability.\nComplete tasks independently and thoroughly.\nTimely respond to communication.\nDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills and initiative.\nKeep the work area organized and free from hazards.\nDrive in a safe and professional manner.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequently: Standing, Seeing, hearing, speaking, carrying, standing, and walking on various surfaces (e.g., pavement, gravel, uneven soil); using power and manual tools.\nOccasionally: Sitting, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, twisting.\nCandidate Requirements:\nDriving: Must have a clear driving record, reliable transportation, and a valid California Driver’s License. Legal minimum California Drivers Insurance is required to operate their vehicle and to be insurable under company policy.\nCompliance: Ability to learn and implement regulatory standards and guidelines, including those from the Department of Developmental Services and North Bay Regional Center.\nEducation/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, special education, or sociology is preferred.
