We are adding two data pipeline engineers to a large pipeline build-and-migrate programme for a financial-services client, delivered through our platform partner.\n\nThis is a hands-on build role. You will create data pipelines in Python and PySpark, author and operate Airflow DAGs, and take them all the way to production — not design slides about them. The volume is substantial, so we are looking for people who have run pipelines at scale and know what breaks.\n\nA controlled banking environment — please read before applying\n\nAll work is done inside the client's highly controlled and monitored banking environment. These rules are not negotiable:\n\nNo AI-assisted development. AI coding assistants and generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or similar) may not be used for any work on this engagement. You write the code yourself.\nNo copy and paste into or out of the environment.\nNo file upload or download — nothing leaves or enters the environment except through the client's approved channels.\nActivity is monitored. Sessions and actions in the environment are logged and reviewed.\n\nA breach of these rules can end the engagement immediately, damage your professional reputation and Triade's, and expose the people involved to legal action. If you cannot work this way, this role is not for you.\n\nWhat you will do\nCreate ETL/ELT pipelines in Python and PySpark — ingestion, transformation, orchestration, retries, idempotency, backfills.\nAuthor and operate Apache Airflow DAGs — dependencies, sensors, dynamic task mapping, SLAs, alerting. Keep a daily chain running when one task fails.\nDeploy to production — CI/CD, code review, environment promotion, release discipline in a controlled, audited environment.\nMigrate and implement at volume — a large backlog of jobs to stand up; repeatability and patterns matter more than bespoke cleverness.\nOwn operational quality — monitoring, logging, cost and runtime, incident response on your own pipelines.\nCommunicate in writing, in English — pull requests, runbooks, status to the client.\nWhat you need\nExpert-level Apache Airflow in production. Not coursework, not \"exposure\" — you have owned DAGs that other people depended on.\nStrong Python and PySpark for data engineering — clean, tested, reviewed code, written without AI assistance.\nYou have deployed to production yourself, through CI/CD, in an environment with change control.\nSQL and comfort with warehouse/lakehouse patterns.\nComfort working under strict security controls — no AI tools, no copy and paste, no file transfer, monitored sessions.\nEnglish at a working professional level. You will write for and speak to a financial services client. This one is not negotiable.\nAvailable to start in early November and to work United States business hours. There is no extended ramp on this engagement.\nNice to have\nAstronomer / Astro specifically — managed Airflow, Astro CLI, deployment workflows.\nAstronomer or Apache Airflow certification.\nStarburst, Trino, Iceberg, or similar federated query and lakehouse technology.\nFinancial services or another regulated environment — ideally inside a bank's controlled environment.\ndbt, Kafka; AWS, Azure or GCP.\nExperience on a large migration rather than greenfield only.\nHow we work\nFully remote, United States business hours.\nWritten status over verbal — a decision that is not written down did not happen.\nYou work alongside data architects and platform engineers, and with partner delivery teams.\nDetails\n\nIndependent contractor through Triade LLC, paid in US dollars, 6 to 12 months, hourly, extendable.
