We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.\r\nThe Role\r\nAs AI Legal Program Manager, you will play a key role in navigating the legal and regulatory landscape of Block's artificial intelligence initiatives. You will partner with legal, engineering, product, and compliance teams to develop frameworks that enable responsible AI innovation while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management across our AI products and services.\r\nYou will\r\nDrive the development and implementation of AI legal and compliance frameworks, including policies for model development, deployment, and monitoring that align with emerging AI regulations and industry standards.\r\nParticipate in cross-functional reviews of AI project initiatives to identify legal risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations while enabling innovation.\r\nDevelop and maintain AI governance documentation, including model cards, algorithmic impact assessments, training data compliance records, and legal risk assessments.\r\nPartner with engineering teams to implement legally compliant AI development practices, including requirements for transparency, fairness, and accountability.\r\nCreate and maintain processes for AI incident response, model monitoring, and legal compliance validation.\r\nBuild scalable processes for AI legal reviews across various stakeholders.\r\nYou have\r\n5+ years of directly related experience in technical program management, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML initiatives in a technology-driven environment.\r\nStrong understanding of emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, state AI laws, etc.) and their practical implementation.\r\nExperience developing legal frameworks for AI governance and responsible AI development.\r\nTrack record of partnering with technical teams to implement legal requirements in AI systems.\r\nUnderstanding of IP considerations in AI development, including training data rights, model ownership, and output licensing.\r\nExperience with AI risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies.\r\nStrong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.\r\nEven better\r\nExperience with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI legal considerations\r\nBackground in open source software licensing and AI model licensing\r\nFamiliarity with AI ethics frameworks and algorithmic fairness principles\r\nExperience with AI procurement and vendor assessment\r\nKnowledge of global AI regulatory developments and policy trends\r\nBackground in privacy law and data protection regulations\r\nTechnical background or demonstrated ability to understand AI/ML concept\r\nWe're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace.
