This includes 1st generation antennas and duplex baseband equipment, first generation simplex equipment, and various 2nd generation systems and subsystems. This will include a rotating on-call schedule.Network Timing Engineering solutions inside a data/telecommunications environmentContinuously find improvements to the above through analysis of procedure and automation implementationCreate and update gateway documentation including Solutions Database documents, technical bulletins, and recommended Operations and Maintenance procedures.Plan and document configuration changes such as adding radio, trunk, Internet, or PSTN capacity to a gateway.Actively participate in installation, commissioning, and testing of peripheral systems.Participate in development and delivery of next generation gateway technical training programs to Globalstar employees at all levels.Work closely with the SLA team and Gateway Operations in identifying and resolve technical issues which may negatively affect the customer experience.Skills And CompetenciesAbility to travel domestically and internationally for short- and medium-term assignments required. Valid passport required.Excellent written and verbal communications skillsProcedural writing skills and experience an assetLanguage skills in addition to English are a plus.Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities.Ability to interact with senior staff and with technical/engineering personnel.Education And ExperienceMust have completed a bachelor's degree in engineeringMinimum three (3) years of applicable satellite communications industry or military experience working with wireless communications networks.Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience designing, troubleshooting, maintaining GPS sourced NTP timing and synchronization in a technical and critical production environmentAdditional industry training and/or certifications are a plus.Must have demonstrated a strong knowledge of Networking Concepts, Security practices, and Gateway (Base Station) for Satellite systems.Must be available for a shared on-call schedule.Must have a strong and proven ability to analyze, summarize and solve issues.Consideration will be given to candidates who possess experience with automated scripting in any language, Power BI, AWS, Grafana, JIRAPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 75 pounds at timesThis is a salaried position which will require occasional after hours, weekend, and holiday work.
