This role combines CNC programming, process development, machine setup support, tooling selection, fixture design, and continuous improvement activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.\r\nThe ideal candidate possesses advanced CNC programming and setup experience, strong knowledge of titanium machining practices, and the ability to drive process improvements within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environment.\r\nEssential Responsibilities\r\nCNC Programming & Process Development\r\nDevelop, prove-out, and optimize CNC programs for 4-axis horizontal machining centers.\r\nCreate and maintain CAM programs using Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, or equivalent software.\r\nDevelop machining strategies for titanium components, balancing cycle time, tool life, and part quality.\r\nGenerate setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and process documentation.\r\nValidate programs through simulation and shop-floor prove-out activities.\r\nSupport implementation of probing routines and in-process inspection strategies.\r\nMachine Setup & Production Support\r\nLead machine setup activities including workholding, tooling, offsets, and first article validation.\r\nTroubleshoot machining issues involving dimensional variation, surface finish, chatter, tool wear, and machine performance.\r\nProvide technical support to Manufacturing Technicians and CNC Operators.\r\nEstablish standardized setup procedures to improve repeatability and reduce setup times.\r\nAssist with fixture qualification and setup reduction projects.\r\nTooling & Workholding\r\nSelect cutting tools, toolholders, and workholding solutions optimized for titanium machining applications.\r\nDesign and develop fixtures, soft jaws, tombstones, and modular workholding systems.\r\nEvaluate and implement new tooling technologies to improve productivity and reduce cost.\r\nManage tooling inventories and standardization initiatives.\r\nProcess Improvement\r\nDrive continuous improvement projects focused on\r\nCycle time reduction\r\nSetup reduction\r\nTool life optimization\r\nScrap reduction\r\nOEE improvement\r\nThroughput increases\r\nUtilize lean manufacturing and data-driven problem-solving methodologies.\r\nAnalyze machine utilization and production data to identify opportunities for improvement.\r\nQuality & Compliance\r\nSupport First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.\r\nEnsure machining processes comply with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.\r\nParticipate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.\r\nMaintain compliance with safety, quality, and company procedures.\r\nWhat Your Background Should Look Like\r\nEducation\r\nBachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.\r\nEquivalent combination of education and advanced CNC manufacturing experience may be considered.\r\nExperience\r\nMinimum 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience.\r\nDemonstrated experience programming and supporting 4-axis horizontal machining centers.\r\nExperience machining titanium alloys in a production environment.\r\nExperience supporting machine setups and process development.\r\nTechnical Skills\r\nAdvanced CAM programming experience.\r\nStrong understanding of\r\nG-Code programming\r\nGD&T interpretation\r\nCutting tool technology\r\nWorkholding and fixture design\r\nCNC probing systems\r\nStatistical process control concepts\r\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.\r\nExperience with CAD software and solid modeling.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience with Makino, Mazak, Okuma, DMG Mori, or Haas horizontal machining centers.\r\nExperience with Renishaw probing systems.\r\nExperience with palletized horizontal machining systems.\r\nKnowledge of aerospace, defense, subsea, medical, or high-performance titanium manufacturing.\r\nExperience with ERP and manufacturing execution systems.\r\nLean Six Sigma certification.\r\nCompetencies\r\nValues: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork\r\nAbout Te Connectivity\r\nTE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
