We are looking for an instructor 18+ to teach hands-on after-school coding classes\n\nClasses will be held in the Community Center of the Brookland Manor Apartments in Washington, DC. We are looking for someone who can commit to teaching 3 afternoon classes a week. Each class is an hour. You will also be paid for training and prep time. These classes cover basic programming skills using Scratch.\n\nAll course material and training for the instructor is provided.\n\nJoin us and have an impact!\n\nBoolean Girl offers\n\n* Meaningful work. We're teaching the next generation of engineers and computer scientists!\n* Paid training.\n* Instructor guides and all class materials.\n* Job and other career references.\n\n*Responsibilities and Duties*\n\n* Teach coding, engineering, and good digital citizenship to children in grades 3 - 8.\n* Set up and maintain equipment.\n* Create a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.\n* You can work 3 afternoons (after 4 pm) a week.\n\n*Qualifications and Skills*\n\nYou:\n\n* have some programming experience.\n* are 18 years or older.\n* love working with children.\n* want to have a positive impact on workplace diversity by encouraging girls and children from underrepresented communities to become engineers and computer scientists.\n* like playing with technology.\n* Are smart, enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, and know how to communicate.\n\nBasic computer skills are a must; experience/interest in working with kids is also a must. You must provide your own reliable transportation.
