They play a vital role in ensuring that Simmons’ IT systems function effectively and efficiently while meeting the needs of the systems’ end users. They will be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues and collaborate across the unit’s areas to integrate, innovate, and drive productivity.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnderstands and utilizes existing infrastructure and business processes to improve efficiency. Provides troubleshooting and support on applicable applications. Exhibits expertise in assigned business or technical application systems. Designs and participates in testing for applications or technologies. Drives the successful deployment of new technologies and/or enhancements to existing systems. Acquires and maintains application expertise through two or more certifications and educational programs. Provides escalated tier 3 support, including researching issues and determining options for resolution. Complies with bank policies as applicable to this position. Ensures that all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training. Designs and deploys complex updates to software applications. Participates in a leading role on IT related projects as assigned. Leads discussions with hardware and software partners. Develops appropriate technical documentation. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.SkillsHands‑On Enterprise & Branch Network EngineeringDesign, build, configure, and support large‑scale branch (basin), campus, and WAN environments, including routing, switching, wireless, and resilient connectivity across hundreds of distributed locations.Perform hands‑on troubleshooting of complex network issues impacting availability, performance, and security.Networking Platforms & TechnologiesCisco enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and network services (configuration, upgrades, lifecycle management)Fortinet next‑generation firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and secure access solutions, including hands‑on policy creation and troubleshootingVMware VeloCloud SD‑WAN architecture, deployment, edge configuration, optimization, and operational supportCloud & Hybrid NetworkingMicrosoft Azure networking, including virtual networks (VNets), subnets, route tables, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and integration with on‑premises networksHands‑on support of hybrid cloud connectivity, IP addressing, routing, and security design across cloud and physical data centersNetwork Automation & Configuration ManagementCisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center) automation, assurance, template‑based provisioning, and configuration enforcementSolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM) for configuration backups, compliance auditing, change tracking, and remediationTerraform for infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) to deploy and manage network and cloud resourcesUse of automation and scripting tools (APIs, Ansible, PowerShell, Python) to reduce manual work, improve consistency, and scale network operationsOperational & Service DeliveryHands‑on participation in incident response, root cause analysis, maintenance windows, and network cutoversDevelopment and enforcement of network standards, documentation, and operational runbooksCollaboration with NOC, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure reliable service deliveryTravel & On‑Site SupportSome travel required to support branch openings, network deployments, upgrades, and critical on‑site troubleshooting as business needs dictateEducation And/or ExperienceAssociate’s degree or higher preferred Five plus years of experience as a technical engineer or equivalent Computer SkillsSkilled in use of Office automation tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) Advanced understanding of networking, cloud computing, server architecture, data management, and/or banking business processes. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Certification in applicable technical applications preferred Banking Certification or experience a plus Other Qualifications (including Physical Requirements)Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational, problem solving, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities. General banking knowledge preferred.
