Remote or other office locations (Atlanta, GA, Sacramento, CA, San Diego, CA, or San Jose, CA) may be considered.\n\nA Consultant is an individual that has diversified knowledge of engineering principles, business development and leadership abilities, and capable of taking full responsibility for organizing, executing, and coordinating project assignments. Project assignments may include 3D modeling, advanced analysis and design of various industrial building and non-building structures and nonstructural components. The company operates in a variety of industries including design and maintenance of civil infrastructure, nuclear power, healthcare, dams and waterways, transportation, defense, pressure vessels and piping, and mechanical and electrical equipment. The individual should have experience in working with stakeholders to understand issues faced and develop scopes of work for proposals.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPlan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate projects of medium to high complexity with limited oversight\nExecute complex structural engineering tasks\nControl and regularly report progress of project scope and budget\nProvide clear instructions to team members on delegated tasks\nManage the preparation of technical reports and calculation documents\nReview calculations and analyses from other engineers\nAct as a resource for engineering staff\nAssist senior management to win repeat work from existing clients through effective service and minding of clients’ needs.\nRepresent the company, often as the sole SIA attendee at project meetings\nCoordinate with other technical leaders in the company in solving very complex engineering problems.\nImplement SIA’s policies on safety and quality control\nRequired Skills/Qualifications:\nMS in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering from an ABET-accredited university\nAt least 7 years of relevant professional experience\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license\nExperience managing projects in solid mechanics, steel, concrete, seismic design/analysis, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics, and use of advanced finite element analysis software platforms\nExperience solving problems using data, logic, and judgement\nExperience using structural engineering codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC\nProficiency in structural engineering or finite element analysis programs (e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, LS-DYNA, Matlab, and/or Mathcad)\nStrong planning and organizational skills to complete assignments within budget and schedule\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nAbility to review, critique, and improve the written output of other engineers\nDesired Skills/Qualifications:\nExcellent track record of recognized technical excellence and market leadership\nDemonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships\nLeadership and participation in industry standard committees\nExperience as an accomplished public speaker\nPay Range:\nThe expected salary range for this role is $104,240 to $144,700 in Denver, CO; $97,440 to $135,700 in Atlanta, GA; $106,720 to $147,700 in Sacramento, CA; $104,160 to $144,600 in San Diego, CA; and $123,200 to $171,300 in San Jose, CA.
