Continuous Improvement Manager

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for a Continuous Improvement Manager for our plant located in Gadsden, AL. In this role, you will drive sustainable, continuous improvements within the facility, delivering breakthrough results in safety, quality, delivery and cost while developing cultural change and engagement throughout the organization. The CI Manager works closely with plant leadership and department employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical lean manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills, along with a passion for operations excellence to be successful.Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today's transmission industry standards and specifications.What You'll Do:Implement operational excellence and continuous improvement strategies that directly tie-in with the site's KPI's (measurable results and sustainment will be tied in with performance reviews)Lead and facilitate data-driven Kaizen events to identify constraints and drive sustainable improvements and work closely with plant personnelLead and facilitate events to identify and systematically reduce all forms of waste.Develop and execute improvement action plans with specific owners and completion datesDevelop a Lean Culture within the facility engaging individuals from the shopfloor upDevelop tracking tools and measures to support key KPI initiatives such as increasing efficiency, throughput/capacity, and reducing shop cost per unit ratesDevelop business case justification for projects and initiativesCreate best practices to better leverage resources across all facilitiesProvide and teach CI tools to team membersBuild a CI culture across the organizationAssist in the development and implementation of capital projects, including equipment feasibility studies, working with key stakeholdersProvide guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the Operations function, working closely with direct reports What You'll Need:Minimum of seven (7) years in a manufacturing environmentMinimum of three (3) years of Continuous Improvement experience requiredExtensive technical skills and hands-on experience in continuous improvement manufacturing activitiesSelf-starter who can easily engage other individuals across all jobs and responsibilities within the plant and organizationStrong application knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and related Continuous Improvement toolsKnowledge of Lean Daily Management, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, 8 wastes, TPM and SMED changeover reductionBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (Engineering, Math, Science, Business or Operations preferred) or equivalent combination of education and work experience Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
