Contact us today to hear more about Arcarithm and all we offer!Job Title: Principal Engineer for HypersonicsJob Location: Tullahoma, TNJob SummaryThe Senior Staff Engineer hired into this role will function as senior technical advisor to an operations and asset sustainment team to coordinate with multiple departments and contractors to support the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of a new ATF hypersonic ground test facility at Arnold AFB, TN. The Senior Staff Engineer will provide input to fully staffing engineering, craft supervision and craft for operation of the facility. The team would be responsible for design reviews, creating statements of work, inspections, input into the installation of systems, work instruction creation/review, system safety hazard analysis creation/review, and/or facility integrated test plan creation and execution and other duties as needed.It is an important aspect of this role to engage and facilitate engagement with personnel across other mission areas in seeking technical solutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for representing BNH in discussions with or presentations to clients, management, test customers, and senior technical personnel, thus, comfort in verbal presentations and ability to explain highly technical approaches to a broad audience is critical.Must have an active and transferable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearanceJob Duties:Provide technical advice on test operations and facility assets sustainmentProvide leadership and technical advice in testing and sustainment processesConduct reviews of technical work and help develop technical capability and rigorServe as configuration manager for systems assets hierarchy including coordinating change requests and reviewing/approving Asset Condition Assessments, encouraging commonality across all test operationsPromote interaction with asset health assurance branch to advance use of Reliability Centered and Condition Based Maintenance practicesProvide technical oversight support to capital investment, maintenance, and test projects through engineering reviews and analyses of alternative approachesOnce the facility is completed, the Senior Staff Engineer will support the TOE's in the operations, maintenance, and system engineering role after activation of the test bed systems is completed.Providing technical support to planning, design, fabrication, procurement, installation and check outsProvide strategic and tactical planning, gap identification and solution recommendations to meet current and future test and facility sustainment needsExemplifies the company core value and covenant of safety in all aspects of job including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policyIt is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policyPerforms other related duties as requiredBasic Qualifications:BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of 15 years' post degree engineering experience in ground test facilities' operationTechnical expertise in operating and maintaining high temperature laboratory type facilitiesMust be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area networkDue to Air Force Security requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDCPreferred QualificationsObtained qualification as Test Operations Engineer in at least one applicable facilityExperience/ Examples in successfully leading special assigned efforts such as mishap investigations, large project design reviews; developed or led teams developing unique operational approaches/ equipment for ground testing; been a member or chaired a technical society or code committee/sub-committeeAbility to relate engineering practice to industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in engineering or scientific disciplineExperience in writing/ leading development of work instructions and hazard analyses for complex operationsExamples of skill in oral and written communication, particularly in making complex technical issues understandable to an audience that may not have the same level of technical backgroundA professional license in an appropriate discipline from a recognized engineering licensing boardActive Department of Defense Secret Security ClearanceApply at www.arcarithm.com/employment
