Regional Project Manager and Estimator (Strut/Cold Formed Metal Framing)
Description:
Responsible for managing projects from bidding stage through proper installation and contract closeout, within a large regional area. Oversees the entire estimating process, including preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of comprehensive estimates for large and complex projects as specified by client documents. This includes providing complete conceptual and total bid prices, as well as directing and coordinating all aspects of the estimating functions, from staffing to work assignments. Additionally, responsible for reviewing all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, while also leading sales efforts to acquire new business opportunities and securing contract awards or purchase orders daily.
Job Duties
Understands construction documents, with ability to properly develop take-offs and qualifications for scope of work to bid.
Reviews project specifications for accurate bid or qualified alternate bid.
Prepares and reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
Works independently and with sales team to acquire new opportunities for bidding and growth.
Evolves plans to gain business in changing and growing market opportunities.
Obtains pricing for materials and fabrication costs relevant to bid.
Obtains bids from subcontractors.
Prepares cost analysis in NEFCO Enterprise Resource Planning, Eclipse, by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead cost incurred in the installation of strut grid projects.
Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates and project quotes.
Installation of Strut Channel structures, when necessary.
Manage installation crews for variety of projects including medical support structures and data centers.
Prepare and/or coordinate preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client’s documents and provides complete conceptual and total bid price.
Directs team members at all levels of contract administration.
Controls any number of projects at various stages of work.
Reviews records and ensures billings are submitted on time each month.
Consults with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, labor, estimated costs and construction time.
Plans layout of projects and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
Check sets of drawings and prepares feedback for staff.
Assists in closing awards on construction contracts.
Directs activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents.
Interact with Construction Managers to support project requirements.
Travel to various project locations throughout the designated regional area.
Understanding of AutoCAD, BIM software and other similar software preferred (Ongoing training to be coordinated with NEFCO Strut Service management).

Demonstrate strong ability to work in fast pace, high pressure environment
Excellent computer skills and capability to adeptly operate software necessary for Project Management; including but not limited to AutoCAD products, Adobe Products, BIM viewing products, and Microsoft products
Strong customer service skills
Maintains excellent regular attendance, punctuality at work to ensure a high-quality and timely response for customers
Must perform work accurately and with a sense of urgency and integrity while paying strict attention to detail
Education/Experience
College or technical school degree preferred, but not required
3-5 years of work experience
