The idea that our hard work can help make their jobs easier, assist them to defend our nation, and can help ensure they return home safely to their loved ones motivates us every day, and we hope that you join us on that mission!\nResponsibilities:\nFunction as a cognizant systems engineer for assigned projects, you are expected to proactively manage all relevant 05V tasking within these projects.\nParticipate in multi-disciplinary teams, build consensus with numerous stakeholders, and coordinate with teams of engineers and support staff to complete projects.\nCoordinate with a team of 4 to 6 team members on multiple projects. This includes technical feedback and guidance, task tracking, and team communications.\nReview reports (technical data packages, drawings, reports, logistics products, and training) and study results from government and industry partners, provide technical recommendations, adjudicate comments, and prepare official technical correspondence.\nCommunicate with Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, TYCOM, PMS 312, PMS 378, SUPSHIP Newport News, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Ship Repair Facility (SRF), & other activities to resolve technical matters.\nDevelop formal presentations to brief to senior officials.\nProvide technical support and assess risk for technical decisions for Ford Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and System Engineering Manager (SEM)\nProvide written responses to requests for technical assistance or adjudication received via letter, Departure from Specification (DFS), and Nuclear Liaison Action Request (NLAR)\nAddress technical issues with ship modernization efforts executed via Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and support development of new SCDs\nReview ship, procurement, and systems specifications and submit written proposals for changes\nRequirements:\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering\n3- 7 years’ experience with one or more of the following Ship Control Systems (SCS):\nMachinery Control and Monitoring System (MCMS) / Machinery Control System (MCS) or similar\nMachinery Control network systems and related infrastructure\nSteering Gear Control Systems\nVoice/Video over IP related systems\nNavigation\nSupervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems\nDamage Control software applications.\nActive DoD Secret Level Security Clearance\nGood project management, technical writing, communication, and organizational skills\nPreferred/Desired:\nPrior Carrier, Submarine, or Surface Ship (Navy, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine) system engineering experience\nWorking with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard auxiliary systems.
