The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the financial performance of his/her team and will support client management and business development activities. Individual will focus on Integrated Modular Solutions for three core market segments: IT, Telecom and Industrial. This will include detailed system designs for Data Centers, Central Office, Switching Centers and Video Hub Office and will include supervising all Engineering discipline.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nResponsible for the post-sales Engineering team and taking over a project from the pre-sales team and managing the technical project execution from initial design through production and delivery to the customer.\nLead the Engineering team to create designs which meet or exceed Vertiv’s quality requirements and fall within budgetary requirements.\nCoordinate Structural Engineering activities with a team that consists of any combination of Vertiv and third party Engineers.\nWork with other Vertiv business units and preferred third party equipment suppliers for appropriate selection of equipment meeting customer and project requirements.\nInteract with the customer and their Engineering teams to coordinate the Vertiv design with the customer’s requirements and expectations.\nInteract with the customer and their permitting agent when needed to support the customer’s permitting efforts.\nInteract with the customer’s General Contractor (GC) to coordinate all site work.\nManage and coordinate contracted engineering companies in regards to civil Engineering, and Structural designs and calculations and factory shop drawing development.\nWork with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.\nBe familiar with standards – National Building Code (NBC), International Building Code (IBC), AISC – specification for structural steel buildings, ASTM for structural steel material specification and finish, AWS welding requirements and National Electrical Code (NEC).\nSupport of onsite project operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.\nTravel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, mechanical systems audits and startup as needed.\nOffer creative, out of the box solutions to the customer.\nCreate and improve existing engineering plans, processes and procedures.\nPerform annual performance evaluations and set objectives for their Engineering team members.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Optional, if actual experience is demonstrated\nProfessional engineering (PE) License – optional\n6+ years of engineering and management experience\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, SolidWorks, etc.\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications\nExperience reading, understanding and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.\nUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, National Building Code, International Building Code, NFPA70 etc.\nFundamental understanding of critical data center equipment.\nExcellent organization skills and must be detail oriented.\nProven problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written.\nStrong leadership skills\n\nTIME TRAVEL REQUIRED\n\n15 – 20% Domestic travel required\n\n#LI-CM1","company":"Vertiv","rawCompany":"vertiv","city":"Pelzer","state":"SC","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-09-06T13:00:37.358Z","occupations":[{"code":"11-9041.00","title":"Architectural and Engineering Managers","slug":"architectural-and-engineering-managers"},{"code":"17-2051.00","title":"Civil Engineers","slug":"civil-engineers"},{"code":"11-9021.00","title":"Construction Managers","slug":"construction-managers"}],"industries":[{"code":"541330","title":"Engineering Services","slug":"engineering-services"},{"code":"332312","title":"Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing","slug":"fabricated-structural-metal-manufacturing"},{"code":"541690","title":"Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services","slug":"other-scientific-and-technical-consulting-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Structural Engineering Supervisor","description":"POSITION OVERVIEW\n\nDirectly supervising, supporting and providing direction and leadership to the Structural Engineers and third party Engineering teams.
