This position is responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and high-quality electrical designs that meet customer expectations, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements in a fast-paced, growing environment.This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and external partners to support product development, testing, and deployment. The Electrical Engineer contributes across the full product lifecycle, from concept through commissioning, while supporting continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and scalability.This position is well-suited for an engineer with strong technical expertise in power distribution equipment and a collaborative approach to solving complex engineering challenges.Core Responsibilities:Design, analyze, and implement electrical systems for data center infrastructure, including switchboards, switchgear, PDUs, modular power pods, RPPs, backup power systems, and monitoring systemsDevelop, review, and maintain single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and specificationsEnsure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and best practicesSupport new product development initiatives with a focus on modular, scalable, and manufacturable designsCreate and execute electrical test protocols, commissioning plans, and validation testingCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and meet business objectivesProvide technical support across design, manufacturing, installation, and operational phasesAdditional Responsibilities:Capture design updates and redlines and generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as UL, NEC, and IEC throughout the product lifecycleCollaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support production readinessInterface with external partners, contractors, suppliers, test labs, and customers to support project executionPerform root cause analysis on product or field issues and recommend design or process improvementsAssist in the selection and procurement of electrical components, balancing performance, cost, and reliabilityManage work to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environmentRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)5+ years of experience in electrical design of power distribution equipment (e.g., switchboards, switchgear, PDUs)Strong knowledge of electrical standards including UL891, UL1062, UL1008, UL1558, NEC, and IECProficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similarExperience with low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 38kV)Electrical testing and commissioning experienceAbility to travel up to 25–30%Preferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (PE) licenseAutoCAD CertificationExperience with MRP/ERP systemsFamiliarity with SolidWorks PDMExposure to SCADA, HMI, PLC, or I/O configurationFamiliarity with automation, scripting, or tools such as Python for engineering workflowsWhat Success Looks Like:Electrical designs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with customer and industry standardsProducts perform reliably through testing, commissioning, and deploymentStrong collaboration across teams results in efficient project execution and successful product launchesEngineering documentation and change management processes are consistent and well-controlledIssues are proactively identified and resolved, improving system performance and reliability over timeWhy Hyper?At Hyper, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of electrical infrastructure that powers mission-critical data center environments.
