This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who enjoys guiding projects from concept through production and who thrives in a hands-on, cross-functional environment. This position is an onsite position, with some opportunity for a hybrid schedule.\r\nYoull play a key role in supporting assembly, start-up, and commissioning efforts while contributing to the advancement of aviation testing technology.\r\nWhat Youll Work On\r\nOurFLAPgroup delivers test solutions for a wide array of aircraft components, including:\r\nFuel systems : pumps, boost pumps, hydromechanical units (HMU), fuel metering units (FMU), valves, nozzles, servos\r\nLubrication systems : valves, heat exchangers, oil pumps, hydraulic clutches, coolers, tanks\r\nActuation systems : electro-mechanical linear and rotary actuators, power drive units (PDU), cargo winches\r\nPneumatic systems : valves, air turbine starters, heat exchangers, air cycle machines, environmental control systems\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nInterpret customer specifications and maintenance manuals to define equipment requirements\r\nCreate 3D CAD models and layout drawings using SolidWorks\r\nDesign mechanical components, including enclosures, fixtures, manifolds, and piping systems\r\nPerform engineering calculations to ensure safety and functionality\r\nSelect and source components, collaborating with suppliers for customization\r\nOptimize packaging of hydraulic and electrical modules\r\nGenerate detailed fabrication and assembly drawings with GD&T\r\nManage BOMs and release documentation\r\nSupport assembly and troubleshooting during build phases\r\nLead customer design reviews and provide mechanical expertise\r\nCollaborate with electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and software engineers\r\nAssist in technical manual development\r\nPlan and prioritize tasks to meet project goals\r\nParticipate in equipment startup and checkout at factory and customer sites\r\nTravel up to 10% (domestic and international)\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field\r\n8+ years of relevant experience in custom equipment or systems design\r\nExperience in mid-sized companies (150300 employees)\r\nSolidWorks Professional certification (preferred)\r\nBackground in fixture, tooling, and automation design\r\nStrong understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems and schematics\r\nBasic knowledge of electrical engineering and PLC programming\r\nMust be a U.S. citizen or U.S. green card holder\r\nAre you ready to engineer the future of aerospace testing?\r\nIf you're a forward-thinking mechanical engineer looking for a dynamic and rewarding challenge, we encourage you to apply and become part of our mission to shape the future of aviation technology.\r\n????
