The purpose of this position is to:Provide basic career services and CareerForce information to job seekers through one-on-one appointments and group instruction (with a priority on serving Unemployment Insurance Applicants and Veterans)Provide career guidance and resources to job seekers and assist them in making informed career choicesInstruct career seekers on how to establish an account, create or post a resume, and conduct a job search on Careerforce.mn.govProvide training on how to seek employment through resume writing classes, interview skills classes, and other employment-related workshopsConduct outreach activities to increase awareness of all programs and services available from the CareerForce SystemInform job seekers and businesses of technical resources to ensure they have access to tools to assist in securing appropriate employment and to successfully recruit and retain employeesAssist businesses in accessing available services through CareerForceThis position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.This posting may be used to fill multiple positions.Minimum qualifications:One (1) year of experience in a role providing employment and training services, case management or similar role as determined by the agency.Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the following:Skill in the development and presentation of workshops for adult career seekers, to be offered virtual and in person.Communication skills to connect career seekers to workforce training opportunities to advance skills.Ability to form and grow connections with community partners such as educational institutions, employers and supportive services to assist career seekers in gaining employment.Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and goals.Ability to assist job seekers in the Career Lab with troubleshooting LoginMN and CareerForce online accounts, employment applications, resumes, etc.Organizational and time management skills to document notes and services by required deadlines (using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Careerforce.mn.gov).Preferred qualifications:Bachelor's degree in education, social work, human services, counseling or other closely related field as determined by the agency.Experience using Careerforce.mn.gov, SharePoint, Webex, Microsoft Office Suite programs.Experience providing career guidance and coaching.Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
