The ideal candidate is an experienced surveyor with strong leadership, organizational, and client management skills, who can oversee complex projects while ensuring high-quality results.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the planning, coordination, and execution of survey projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.\nDevelop detailed project scopes, objectives, and work plans, ensuring proper resource allocation and task delegation.\nOversee project performance, ensuring that field operations, data collection, and office work meet or exceed project expectations while staying within budget.\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.\nCommunicate directly with clients to clarify project goals, address changes in scope, and ensure alignment with expectations.\nManage client relationships, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables.\nDevelop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses for labor, equipment, and materials, and ensuring projects stay within financial parameters.\nManage project schedules, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and project milestones are achieved.\nEnsure all survey activities comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards (e.g., ALTA/NSPS, land title surveys).\nMaintain documentation of survey activities, ensuring proper record-keeping in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.\nSupervise and lead survey teams, ensuring team members are aligned with project goals and understand their responsibilities.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior surveyors, technicians, and field staff, ensuring proper training on advanced surveying techniques, safety protocols, and data collection methods.\nFoster a positive work environment that promotes safety, accuracy, and efficiency in both field and office settings.\nReview and approve survey deliverables, ensuring they meet or exceed quality standards and project requirements.\nAssist in preparing project proposals, bids, and cost estimates for new survey work, ensuring scope alignment with client needs and project requirements.\nContribute to business development efforts by identifying new survey opportunities, maintaining relationships with current clients, and supporting company growth initiatives.\nQualifications:\nExperience: 5+ years of specific Department of Transportation (LADOTD) survey experience or experience in land surveying, with at least 3 years in project management or lead surveyor role. Advanced experience in preparing survey reports, drawings, and other project documentation for client and regulatory review.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field preferred. Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.\nTechnical Skills: Extensive technical knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and equipment, with proficiency in total stations, GPS units, and survey software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS) and field equipment.\nCommunication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team, mentor junior staff, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.\nOrganizational Skills: Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAdaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
