We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.\r\nAbout the role\r\nWe’re looking for a senior full-stack engineer to support our DX team at Atlassian. Someone who’s as comfortable diving into a Ruby on Rails codebase and raw SQL as they are crafting thoughtful, accessible UI in React and TailwindCSS. You’ll work end-to-end on features: from shaping vague problem statements with product and design, to shipping high-quality code, to measuring impact and iterating quickly.\r\nWhat you’ll do\r\nBuild and ship features and capabilities daily in a highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment.\r\nFocus on backend-heavy full-stack development, building robust REST APIs while contributing to customer-facing React components.\r\nReview code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security, and performance considerations in mind.\r\nCollaborate with other engineers, designers, and product managers to understand user pain points and iterate on great solutions.\r\nEnsure full visibility, error reporting, and monitoring of high-performing backend services.\r\nParticipate in Agile software development including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and team retrospectives.\r\nWrite performant raw SQL to power complex queries, reports, and data workflows.\r\nCollaborate closely with product and design to shape problem statements, refine requirements, and propose pragmatic technical solutions when specs are incomplete or ambiguous.\r\nOwn projects end-to-end: architecture, implementation, self‑QA, rollout, monitoring, and iteration based on customer and stakeholder feedback.\r\nHold a high bar for quality: write clear, maintainable code, comprehensive tests, and robust monitoring/alerting where appropriate.\r\nContribute to improving our engineering practices, tooling, and standards, especially around data correctness, reporting, and reliability.\r\nYour Background:\r\n5+ years of industry experience building and developing backend applications with a lean towards full-stack capabilities.\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience).\r\nProficiency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, Python).\r\nExperience with JavaScript/TypeScript and supporting libraries (e.g., React, Node).\r\nExperience crafting and implementing highly scalable and performant RESTful micro‑services.\r\nFluency in at least one database technology (e.g., RDBMS like Postgres and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB).\r\nFamiliarity with cloud architecture patterns and hands‑on experience with public cloud offerings (AWS preferred).\r\nA passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal and communication skills.\r\nBenefits & Perks\r\nAtlassian offers a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community.
