Works closely with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer and engineering specifications.Position Responsibilities:Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and process routers for new and existing productsDesign, specify, and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and gauges to support production, testing, and quality inspectionPartner with Mechanical Engineering on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews for new product designsConduct time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and lower manufacturing costLead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing defects, warranty returns, and process nonconformancesSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype through production rampAnalyze tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and measurement data to resolve fit, form, and function issues on production partsProgram, set up, and support CNC machines, mills, lathes, and other fabrication equipment used in productionDrive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma) across the manufacturing floorEvaluate and implement ECR's/ECN's on the shop floor and update BOMs, routers, and work instructions accordinglySupport Operations on the manufacturing floor with troubleshooting, training, and process documentationParticipate in product team environments related to mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing process designInteract with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teamsOther related duties as assignedQualifications:BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from a four-year college or university1 – 3+ years of related manufacturing, quality, or test engineering experienceWorking knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysisProficiency with CAD/CAM tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or Creo ParametricHands-on experience with CNC machining, mills, lathes, and standard shop/fabrication equipmentExperience with root cause analysis and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why, fishbone)Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodsSelf-learning, task oriented, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, outstanding organizational skillsProven ability to overcome obstacles and get results; works well in group and cross-functional environmentsThe base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $72,900 - $109,000.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
