Responsibilities include analyzing medical files and discovery requests, instrumental investigations into matters impacting defense of cases, assisting with responding to discovery, and assisting with deposition, hearing, and trial preparations. Hybrid work environment.Core duties and responsibilities: Interviewing witnesses and documenting what is learnedSummarizing medical recordsRule 414 medical calculationsConducting social media researchPerforming records researchPerforming legal researchSummarizing legal documentsSummarizing depositions or hearingsPreparing correspondenceDrafting legal documentsAssisting lawyers with preparing for depositions, hearings, meetings, trialsRecording time for client billingSkills and Abilities:Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Outlook and internet researchProficiency with Adobe Acrobat and/or Kofax PDFExceptional proofreading, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize work and meet deadlinesIn depth knowledge of legal terminology and principlesAbility to analyze legal documents for accuracy Must be detail-oriented and team-orientedQualificationsRequired – paralegal certificate or two years’ experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in a litigation practice. Preferred – bachelor’s degree or work equivalent. Adobe and electronic document management with a prospective focus on construction-related disputes.
