Job Summary
Better Being is looking for a Packager to assemble pre-packs, displays, and other objects, completing work orders. The Packager will report to the Operations Manager.
Essential Functions
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
Assembles pre-packs, displays, and other objects, completing work orders
May operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Stores shipments in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information.
May mark identifying codes using labeling equipment.
May move or transport material or supplies to other departments, using hand or industrial truck.
Operate Machinery used for packaging various products. This includes the ability to make minor adjustments or repairs.
Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process. Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
Additional Responsibilities
May also keep records on number of items or cartons received.
Support of and involvement in company, departments, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
Cross train in all areas of the packaging and production team.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend; and talk or hear.
The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, field of vision.
