Proud member of the Nord Anglia Education global network of schools.Position Summary / Job GoalsThe Communications Manager leads and executes The Village School’s internal and external communications strategy to ensure consistent, compelling, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms. This role oversees internal communications, school-wide newsletters, website management, event communications, and social media account management.The Communications Manager works in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager to align messaging with broader marketing initiatives, enrollment strategies, and brand positioning, while maintaining a strong focus on community engagement and storytelling for current families, faculty, staff, and prospective families.Qualifications / TrainingBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fieldMinimum of 3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fieldExperience managing websites and content management systemsExperience managing social media platforms for an organizationStrong writing, editing, and content development skillsExperience / KnowledgeDemonstrated expertise in internal communications strategy and stakeholder messagingExperience producing and managing newslettersExperience overseeing website content strategy, organization, updates, and optimizationStrong understanding of social media strategy, engagement analytics, and content planningFamiliarity with CRM systems and enrollment communications workflowsAbility to align communications efforts with institutional marketing objectivesExperience collaborating cross-functionally to support events, campaigns, and enrollment initiativesUnderstanding of brand governance and consistency across platformsExperience working with external vendors (photography, videography, print, digital services)AttributesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsStrategic thinker with strong storytelling abilityHigh level of personal integrity and professionalismStrong organizational and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistencyCollaborative team player who builds strong relationships across departmentsSelf-motivated, proactive, and solutions-orientedCommitted to continuous improvementReports To / Evaluated ByDirector of Admissions and MarketingWorks in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager, Head of School, Division Principals, Admissions Team, and Nord Anglia Central Services.Major Responsibilities And DutiesInternal CommunicationsDevelop and manage a comprehensive internal communications strategy for faculty, staff, and familiesProduce and distribute regular school-wide newslettersDraft key leadership communications on behalf of school administrationEnsure consistency and clarity of messaging across divisionsWebsite ManagementServe as primary manager of the school websiteMaintain accurate, timely, and engaging contentCoordinate updates across academic divisions, admissions, athletics, boarding, and eventsMonitor website performance and recommend improvements for user experience and engagementSocial Media ManagementDevelop and manage the school’s social media content calendarCreate and publish engaging, mission-aligned contentMonitor analytics and provide reporting on engagement and growthCollaborate with the Marketing Manager on campaign-based initiativesEvent CommunicationLead communications strategy for major school events (Open House, Career Fair, community events, etc.)Develop promotional materials and internal messaging to support attendance and engagementCoordinate cohesive branding and messaging across platformsCollaboration with MarketingPartner with the Marketing Manager to ensure alignment between communications and broader marketing strategiesSupport enrollment campaigns through coordinated messaging and storytellingMaintain consistency of tone, voice, and visual identity across all channelsVillage Believes That Effective Employees AreAccountable - Establishes a high performing culture and accepts accountability for organizational performance.Strategic - Leads opportunity and is committed to continuous improvement aligned with the organizational vision and direction.Collaborative - Works collaboratively with others to achieve organizational outcomesEntrepreneurial - Creates organizational value for diverse stakeholders and achieves commercial success.Enabling - Drives excellence through valuing and developing othersAgile - Achieves personal and organizational success within a changing, dynamic and complex environmentResilient - Demonstrates personal resilience within a demanding environment of high expectationsTherefore, this position description is designed to outline primary duties, qualifications and job scope, but not limit the employee or Village to only the work identified.
