To continue our mission to empower our developers, we are working to centralize and develop self-service tools in Backstage, our internal developer platform.\n\nThis position offers an hourly rate of $25.00 and is based in our Springfield or Monett, Missouri office locations. A hybrid work schedule is available (three days onsite, two days remote). This role may be structured as either full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (minimum of 32 hours per week), depending on business needs and candidate availability.\n\nWhat You'll Be Responsible For:\nDuring this apprenticeship, the apprentice will focus on learning and supporting the DevEx platform team through the following types of work:\nTake on small-scale software tasks and work closely with a mentor to build and maintain internal tools and contribute to our internal developer platform, Backstage.\nGain hands-on experience and proficiency with essential software engineering tools, languages, and environments, including Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, React, Go, CI/CD, and GCP.\nAssist in writing and updating documentation to help reduce friction and improve onboarding processes for our engineering teams.\nParticipate in team activities and rituals by attending and contributing ideas, suggestions, and feedback.\nWhat You'll Need to Have:\nAll apprentice candidates must:\nBe able to work in the U.S. without any sponsorship or need for future sponsorship.\nMeet legal requirements to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time\nBasic understanding of or exposure to at least one backend or frontend programming language (such as Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js)\nFamiliarity with fundamental software engineering tools, such as version control using Git and GitHub.\nExposure to web development basics (like React, HTML, or CSS)\nWhat Would Be Nice for you to Have:\nConceptual knowledge of or exposure to modern cloud environments (e.g.: GCP, AWS, or Azure) or containerization tools like Docker.\nBasic familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts or pipeline tooling.\nIf you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this opportunity.
