Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered.\r\nRole and Scope of Position\r\nCoordinates activities associated with construction and maintenance of New Hampshire's transmission and distribution facilities, with emphasis on system security and reliability. Performs computer studies to analyze system conditions and recommends appropriate responses, including use of emergency operating procedures as necessary, to maintain system reliability.\r\nEssential Functions\r\n\r\nCoordinates the operation of New Hampshire's transmission and distribution facilities; exchanges appropriate information with the Independent System Operator-NE (ISO-NE), Participants, neighboring systems, and System Operations staff to ensure that forecasted operating conditions do not adversely impact the reliable operation of the bulk power supply system.\r\nPrepares, communicates, and coordinates the development of plans to cope with possible or anticipated contingency situations.\r\nDevelops and recommends practices and procedures for improving the effectiveness of operations and coordinates the implementation of approved practices and procedures.\r\nPerforms computer simulation studies of complicated system conditions. Uses computer simulation studies to monitor, approve, or reschedule transmission, distribution and generation outages to ensure the safe, secure, reliable and economic operation of the bulk power supply system.\r\nRecommends mitigation strategies to minimize system and customer risk, including post-contingency customer restoration plans, during planned and unplanned maintenance.\r\nRepresents System Operations Management at meetings held by New Hampshire participants for the planning and operation of future projects.\r\nAssists and advises the System Operators during an assigned work period as required.\r\nProvides guidance to the System Operators in restoration of transmission and distribution equipment and customer load during system disturbance conditions.\r\nConsults with and when necessary, responds to System Operations Management and the System Operators, including after hours; serves on-call as required.\r\nAnalyzes operations of system facilities and protective schemes caused by system disturbances and compares with desired operations as prescribed in applicable operating instructions.\r\nAssists in the preparation of special reports related to system disturbances and/or unusual system conditions.\r\nAssumes administrative duties of the System Operators as required.\r\nResponsible for the safe, secure, reliable and cost-effective coordination of planned outages of the transmission and distribution facilities under the responsibility of System Operations.\r\nHandles the proper coordination of transmission and distribution facility maintenance and construction outages.\r\nCoordinates operations with ISO-NE, neighboring systems, and the distribution system of New Hampshire Participants.\r\nAdheres to comprehensive and uniform instructions and procedures applicable to the operation of transmission and distribution facilities consistent with NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE and local operating procedures and instructions.\r\nDisseminates accurate and timely reports pertaining to system disturbances and other unusual system operations or incidents which require the review of member company personnel.\r\nMonitors, approves, reschedules outages of transmission, distribution and generation facilities for maintenance and construction.\r\nDelegates duties to the System Operators to expedite work or to provide training for System Operators, with the approval of the System Operations Manager.\r\n\r\nTechnical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:\r\nTechnical Knowledge/Skills:\r\n\r\nThorough knowledge of bulk power system operations.\r\nThrough knowledge of the various components that comprise the bulk power system.\r\nThorough user knowledge of bulk power system simulation programs used to analyze thermal and voltage constraints associated with system operations.\r\nThorough user knowledge of PC based computer applications used to monitor, record, analyze and report system operating information.\r\nAbility to analyze bulk power system operating problems, coordinate the development of solutions to such problems, and assist in the prioritizing and implementation of those solutions.\r\nAbility to react quickly and accurately in emergency situations and give guidance to less experienced system operators.\r\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and work effectively with personnel at all levels within ISO-NE, neighboring systems and Participant organizations.\r\nWorking knowledge of transmission, distribution and generation facilities relaying and interlocking protection.\r\nKnowledge of training techniques including use of training aids.\r\nAbility to make effective oral presentations.\r\nThorough knowledge of bulk power system normal and emergency operating criteria policies and procedures.\r\n\r\nEducation\r\n\r\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or the equivalent experience\r\n\r\nExperience\r\n\r\nA minimum of five (5) years of related dispatching experience, including work in distribution dispatching, generation station operations, electrical maintenance, power system protection and control, or equivalent electric operations experience is required.\r\n\r\nLicenses & Certifications:\r\n\r\nThe ability to obtain the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) certification.\r\n\r\nWorking Conditions\r\n\r\nMust be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.\r\nMust be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.\r\n\r\nelecajd\r\nLI-ES3\r\nCompetencies\r\nBuild trusting relationships\r\nManage and develop people\r\nFoster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration\r\nLead change\r\nCommunicate strategic vision\r\nCreate an engaged workforce\r\nFocus on the customer\r\nTake ownership & accountability\r\nCompensation and Benefits\r\nEversource offers a competitive total rewards program.Check out our careers site for an overview of our benefits programs.
