Direct Support Professional

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, promote independence, and enhance their quality of life. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for helping others and possess strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and grooming. Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines. Monitor and document vital signs and overall health status of clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client’s mental well-being. Assist with mobility and lifting as needed to ensure client safety. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address any changes in client condition. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients in home care or facility settings. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills. Experience Prior experience in long-term care, nursing homes, senior care, or hospice care is preferred but not required. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and ability to follow care plans effectively. Experience in home care settings is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
