Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and energetic Agriculture Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of farm machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our equipment running smoothly, supporting farmers and industrial clients with reliable service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including tractors, plows, grain drills, seed handling and other heavy equipment, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver top-tier maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on farm machinery, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery using OEM schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system repairs, suspension adjustments, and tire replacements to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools, welding techniques, soldering, and fabrication skills to meet specific operational needs. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC components, and diesel engines to identify issues accurately and implement effective solutions. Use diagnostic tools for automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting to ensure precise repairs. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, schematics interpretation, and inventory management for parts used during repairs. Requirements Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, diesel engines, brake repair, wheel alignment, welding, and assembly processes. Hands-on experience with OEM parts catalogs and schematics interpretation for accurate repairs. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with power tools and hand tools essential for equipment repair. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely in a shop environment. Knowledge of automotive repair practices including tire service and vehicle maintenance procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to perform heavy-duty tasks regularly. Valid certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation or mechanic specialties are preferred but not mandatory.
