As the Systems Developer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, writing and programming, and launching efficient information system applications and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. To be successful in this role, you must have superb proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of IS systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nResponsible for the design, development, analysis, creation of computer programs for end-users, including testing and modification as necessary\nWrite Windows-based applications that interact with databases, web services, Windows services\nDevelop and maintain data interfaces to and from clients and vendors\nResponsible for systems analysis for programming requests from inside and outside users of any of the current system platforms supported by this IS department. These requests will be triaged and scheduled for completion. Programming requests will also be weighed for contention of compatibility with our current systems and procedures\nOrganize meetings with users requesting projects to determine needs versus wants and to counsel the requester on possible pitfall(s) of his/her request\nDevelopment of a written plan of the proposed changes to the system and the desired outcome. This plan will detail the effected system components, database files and source code to be modified with a ‘before and after’ image. The written plan must then be approved with the IS Manager or another Systems Analyst if the manager is not available\nResponsible for controlling storage waste within the systems in which they work. Test environments, temporary databases, journal receivers and the like need to be cleaned at project completion\nAssist in the analysis and design phase of a project\nCollaborate with developers, programmers, analysts and designers in conceptualizing, developing and testing of new software programs and applications\nDevelop, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions\nProvide support for the creation, installation, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of information systems\nResponsible for analyzing user requests for compatibility with our current systems and procedures\nWork effectively with project management, support, and other internal departments\nCreate, design, develop, test and maintain an efficient database environment for all locations\nAnalyze systems to determine software needs, including consulting with end-users and setting up procedures for system interfaces\nResponsible for the training and continual education of end-users and IS staff for EDI, interfaces, loads and database maintenance\nResponsible for maintaining an efficient system for logging data loads, routine SQL statements for database maintenance\nProgramming as needed to modify systems for enhancement of current processes or establishment of new processes\nResponsible for database effectiveness, ensuring transfers, rejections, etc., between systems are worked and handled appropriately and timely\n\nSkills, knowledge & expertise\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related field\nA minimum of three years of C++, C#, NET programming, MS SQL knowledge\nPowerBuilder developer with at least five years of experience using PowerBuilder 10.5 or higher to design, develop, and support enterprise applications\nSybase and MS SQL knowledge\nExperience with object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks such as LLBLGEN and Entity frameworks\nExperience designing and implementing APIs\nA minimum of three years working in a database environment\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, agile environment\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity & Legal Notices\n\nBenefits\nAt Davies North America, we are dedicated to supporting the well‑being and future of our qualifying employees.
