We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team and help oversee daily operations.
Position Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will play a critical role in supporting the General Manager with daily operations, fleet management, driver coordination, and customer service. This individual must have a strong background in transportation management and hands-on experience in commercial driving. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and other staff to maintain high standards of safety and customer service.
Monitor and manage fleet operations, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, HOS (Hours of Service), and company policies.
Conduct driver training, safety meetings, and performance evaluations to uphold operational excellence.
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and service issues to maintain a high level of satisfaction.
Assist in route planning, scheduling, and optimizing logistics to improve efficiency.
Ensure all vehicles are well-maintained, coordinate repairs, and oversee preventive maintenance schedules.
Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of drivers and staff.
Maintain records of operational data, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Act as a backup driver as needed to support operations during peak times.
Qualifications & Requirements
Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement (Required).
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in the transportation industry.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and fleet management.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with drivers, staff, and customers.
Proficiency in transportation software, GPS tracking, and scheduling tools is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $51,662.00 - $63,744.00 per year
