Field HR Generalist
Description:
Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist supports the execution of core HR functions including employee relations, compliance, training, and HR program implementation. This role provides guidance to managers on workplace issues, conducts employee relations investigations, ensures compliance with company policies and employment laws, and supports initiatives that strengthen the employee experience. The HR Generalist works closely with HR leadership and operational teams to implement HR strategies, deliver training, and support HR processes across the employee lifecycle. This role requires strong judgment, the ability to manage sensitive situations, and a proactive approach to solving workplace issues while maintaining compliance and consistency.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
Serve as an HR partner to managers and employees on employee relations matters including performance concerns, workplace conflict, attendance issues, and policy interpretation
Conduct onsite employee relations investigations, gather and document facts, and recommend appropriate actions in alignment with company policies and legal considerations
Coach managers on performance management, corrective action, and documentation to ensure consistency and fairness
Partner with HR leadership on complex or high-risk employee relations matters and assist in implementing recommended actions
Identify trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions, training, or policy improvements
HR Compliance and Policy Administration
Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
Support internal HR audits and compliance reviews to ensure proper documentation and policy adherence
Assist with development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures
Monitor regulatory updates and support implementation of necessary process or policy changes
HR Operations and Employee Lifecycle Support
Support key HR processes across the employee lifecycle including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding
Act as a trusted HR resource for managers navigating employee-related processes and decisions
Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent execution of HR programs and initiatives
Work with field leaders to develop relationships, support, and identify business needs
Partner with leaders to identify training needs and support development planning for employees and teams
Execution of Strategic HR Initiatives
Support execution of HR strategic initiatives and organizational programs that align with business objectives
Reinforce company leadership expectations and behavioral standards through training and coaching
Assist with communication and rollout of HR programs across departments
Contribute insights from employee interactions to help inform HR strategy and organizational improvements
Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information and workplace issues

Requirements:
Qualifications:
Five (5) years of progressive HR experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bilingual English and Spanish required
HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP
Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements
Strong communication, relationship-building, coaching, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with HRIS systems preferred
Experience supporting multi-site or field-based operations preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in operational and field environments as needed, which may include construction sites, warehouses, or other industrial settings
Primarily sedentary work involving prolonged sitting and computer use
Occasional standing and walking for meetings or administrative tasks
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment
Ability to communicate verbally and hear conversations in person and via phone or virtual platforms
Close vision required for computer screens and detailed documents
May occasionally lift or carry up to 20 pounds
Location: Location-specific; travel up to 75%
