Site assignments will rotate across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia based on project phase and field demands.This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned field professional who thrives in an owner-side role, enjoys holding EPC and BOP contractors accountable, and is looking to contribute to a growing portfolio of utility-scale projects that are actively shaping the regional energy landscape.The OpportunityThe Owner's Representative / Construction Manager will serve as the client's primary onsite presence throughout the active construction phase of each assigned project, protecting the owner's interests and ensuring contractors deliver against schedule, budget, quality, and safety commitments. This is a hands-on, accountability-driven role with direct exposure to senior project leadership and meaningful long-term opportunity as the portfolio continues to expand.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the client's dedicated onsite representative throughout construction, providing continuous oversight from mobilization through mechanical completion and commissioning handoffMonitor EPC and BOP contractor performance against project schedule, budget, and scope commitments, proactively identifying risks and driving timely resolutionConduct daily site walks and inspections, document field conditions, and produce clear construction progress reports for the client's internal project management teamTrack and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch list items, ensuring documentation remains accurate, current, and accessibleReview construction drawings, specifications, and design packages; coordinate with engineering teams to resolve field conflicts or design discrepanciesServe as the primary liaison between the client and EPC contractors, BOP subcontractors, equipment vendors, local utilities, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)Champion site safety by auditing contractor safety plans, participating in safety meetings and walks, and enforcing adherence to OSHA standards and client safety protocolsSupport commissioning activities by coordinating between the EPC, OEMs, commissioning personnel, and utility interconnection representativesProvide budget tracking input, review contractor pay applications, and flag cost exposure early to protect against scope creep and unapproved change ordersTravel between assigned project sites across the Southeast as required by project phaseQualificationsApproximately 5+ years of construction management or owner's representative experience on utility-scale energy infrastructure projectsDirect experience on energy storage, solar PV, or hybrid renewable projects strongly preferredProven ability to hold EPC contractors accountable to milestone schedules, quality requirements, and contractual obligationsSolid understanding of construction contracts, change order processes, NTP/LNTP protocols, substantial completion, and project closeout proceduresProficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project, with comfort reviewing and red-lining technical drawings and specificationsWorking knowledge of utility interconnection, substation construction, and high-voltage electrical systems is a significant advantageStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear field reports and represent the owner's interests professionally with all external partiesBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related experience in the field is preferredPMP or CCM certification a plusOSHA 30 certification required or willingness to obtainMust be available for full-time onsite presence and willing to travel between project sites in SC, NC, and VA if needed for coverage.Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time onsite contract role with daily presence required at the assigned project site. Site assignments will rotate across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia as projects advance through different construction phases. The role involves regular walking of active construction sites, working in varying outdoor conditions, and travel between regional project locations as project demands require.Contract DetailsThis is an ongoing contract engagement. Compensation is structured on a competitive contract rate commensurate with experience.
