CAT/CT Scan TechnologistThe CAT/CT Scan Technologist produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as ordered by a physician. These cross-sectional images provide detailed information about soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones, which are essential for accurate diagnostics. The CAT/CT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns. The CAT/CT Technologist also performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CT scans.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety proceduresPositions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessaryAppropriately sets the controls of the relate equipment; monitors equipment and patient; makes adjustments as necessaryAssists radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IV's, and injecting contrast, if applicableMay dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scansAssists radiologist with interventional CT proceduresEvaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately labelMay be responsible for scheduling patients for procedures and assisting with some clerical functionsCharges procedures and supplies used to the patient record appropriatelyLoads and operates power injections for contrast media administrationMaintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed; maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA standardsAdheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of experience as a CAT/CT Technologist preferred.Appropriate valid state licensure in diagnostic imagingA.R.R.T.
